Perfect for the bedroom or kitchen or sending off with your college student to his or her dorm room, the AOC International E20E221 20-inch LCD EDTV (Enhanced Definition TV) set is capable of displaying not only television signals in 480p (480-pixel progressive) but also from video sources such as progressive-scan DVD players. This offers a far better resolution and picture than playing a DVD through an interlaced video screen from a standard CRT set. Slim and stylish, the E20E221 comes with a stand but can also be wall-mounted for even more counter-top space saving (VESA 100mm wall mount compliant). It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner and it's capable of displaying high definition TV signals with an optional receiver. It features an 800 x 600 resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio, and PC monitor capability. It also features a wide 160-degree horizontal viewing angle, fast 16 ms (millisecond) response time, brightness rating of 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter, and 500:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.)

An adaptive 4H comb filter allows improved Y/C separation, helping to clean up image outlines and eliminate extraneous colors. Exactly What I Needed
This tv is exactly what I needed. I purchased it for an exercise room/office. I can use it as a monitor and/or as a tv, so it saves me some space. It is also light, and the cable outlets, etc are all on the sides and the bottom, so wall-mounting would not be a problem.

The picture quality is great head-on, and from the sides as well. Looking up, though, it is terrible - so don't hang it too high on the wall.

The sound quality is fantastic. I hardly have to turn up the tv to hear it when I'm on the noisy treadmill across the room.

The picture in picture feature enables you to work on the computer and watch tv. This is one of the few features, however. It is definitely not a feature-rich item. If you want a lot of features - purchase a dedicated tv or monitor - not a combination like this one.

The manual was not very helpful, but that's alright because everything is pretty straightforward. And, the remote is just a standard remote - not too big or too small.

Overall - I am thrilled with this purchase. It was exactly what I needed!
