AV Mode

Invisible Speaker System
LG's 2008 line of TVs include a unique invisible speaker system, tuned by renowned audio expert, Mr. Mark Levinson. Speakers are embedded in strategic spots behind the front cabinet and use minute vibrations to turn the entire front bezel into the speaker system. The result is a clean, polished look, and enhanced audio by increasing the "sweet spot," giving a wider and richer sound field.
Expert Mode
Sophisticated and detailed calibrations can be made through the easily accessible Expert Mode. (Up to 25 more fine adjustment points than typical TVs) This allows the user to optimize the picture quality, based on the viewing environment, lighting conditions or type of content.
XD Engine
LG's proprietary XD Engine technology takes low-resolution analog signals to near high-definition levels, providing better overall picture quality and an enhanced viewing experience. XD Engine encompasses six distinct processes that help to improve brightness, enhance detail, apply more accurate color and reduce noise, among other benefits.
3D Digital Comb Filter
3D Digital Comb Filter makes images softer and cleaner. Unlike existing comb filters, the 3D Digital Comb Filter in LG LCD TVs separates signals for brightness and color with digital technology. This eliminates edge crawls and rainbow effects while extending the resolution, clearly separating color boundaries and making images softer and cleaner.

HDMI 1.3 with Deep Color
HDMI delivers sharper, cleaner images and sounds without any data loss, making it suitable for graphic and multimedia users.
HDMI 1.3 supports 30-bit, 36-bit and 48-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths. Previous versions of the HDMI specification only supported 24-bit color depth.

Great value for the price
Easy to setup and easy to watch, the 22LG30 is an excellent buy for the price.
After purchasing this unit and receiving it, I had it wall-mounted and setup in almost no time.
The color and picture requires some tweaking (I had it set to 'warm', from the default 'cool' setting and also increased brightness a bit) and the audio as others have commented is weaker than what you'd hope to get (I improved the audio by increasing treble and bass to 100%, and setting the sound option to 'music' from the default). One thing I could not adjust as well was the black, which was not quite as black as I would like but better than what I expected (from an entry-level priced LCD TV).
Overall, I am quite happy with this purchase!
Compact size, controls on top, but lip synch problems
Good picture, compact size (the frame is narrow so takes less space), has PC input that works fine, menus pretty nicely done, but has serious lip synching problems, doesn't fit picture to screen all that well (and yes it is 16:10 so images are slightly tall). Sound has weak frequency range and does sound tinny, however I used headphone jack to feed stereo audio output to my receiver and that feed sounds fine. As I write this, I'm thinking there has to be better model out there...sharp and Toshiba 22 inch displays were not yet available when I purchased this one, only other option was a Vizio, which I tried, but dark backgrounds had lots of noise.
16:10 not 16:9
I'm confused, this tv is listed as having 16:9 aspect ratio on amazon,onecall where it came from and LG website. recieved tv yesterday and set up with comcast box and hdmi cable. set tv at 16:9 and it has black strips at top and bottom of pic. measured screen and did the math. tv actually has 16:10 aspect so i am sending it back as i can't watch hd tv with distorted figures." do all 22" 1680 by 1050 panels have this issue? also poor sound
