Amazon.com Product Description
The XBR KDL-52XBR4 is a 1080p television with a full 1920 x 1080 resolution, the highest resolution available for the sharpest, clearest picture. The KDL-52XBR uses the most recent HDMI 1.3 interface, which houses both audio and video signals in one connector and has the bandwidth to support the data needed for the high resolution. Sony's Bravia Engine Pro Full Digital Video Processor upconverts all video signals to 1080p so you can watch all your old DVDs on this glorious display. Sony complements the high resolution with the latest technology in color reproduction. The KDL-52XBR is a 10-bit display with 10-bit processing. Most panels are only 8-bit. The added bit depth here means a larger color palette for more faithful color reproduction and smoother transitions from one color to the next. Additionally, the display also supports the new x.v.Color standard, which dramatically increases the available color space. The end result is a picture that is so detailed, colorful, and vibrant, you'd have a hard time distinguishing it from real life. The KDL-52XBR4 features Sony's Motionflow technology, which automatically adjusts for and applies the proper processing for optimal motion reproduction depending on the video input. This includes support for 24 frames per second (24p) video, which displays video content at the 24-frames-per-second rate at which it was originally filmed or recorded. With 24p, you get the most faithful possible reproduction of the original. A Wide Variety of Inputs Stunning Looks Outstanding Ergonomics and Simplicity of Control More Than Just a Television The KDL-52XBR4 is backed by a 1-year limited warranty for parts and labor.

Nearly perfect
Like other Sony products I have ever had (plasma TV, camcorders, cameras, laptops, etc.), this is no doubt another great one. I bought it earlier this year and everyone in my family just love it. No complaints. But it would be perfect if the P&P function could work just like my old Sony TV which allows me to watch two different TV channels at the same time instead of one TV channel and the video. Nothing's perfect, though.
Love It
I bought this a year ago and it is working great. Amazon's White Glove service was good. The TV arrived in a timely way during the Holidays and I helped the driver unload it, because he showed up without a partner. He was apologetic, and I was happy to get the unit in time for the Holidays. Bottom line, the TV is incredible. I was deciding between this and the 52" Samsung because of the lower price and similar high end technologies. The Sony name and design won me over, however, forget about good customer service from Sony, as they are terrible. Thank goodness the TV works so well, and hopefully I wont need additional help from them. The TV is awesome and has some terrific features. The TV's only weakness, from my point of view, is that there aren't enough HDMI ports (2 on back, 1 on side) and there is no input for DVI, just RGB (which I'm told is analog). I highly recommend this TV. You'll wow people and have lots of hours of great entertainment too. Make sure you get a strong mount if you plan to hang this on your wall as it weighs nearly 100 lbs. I bought the Omni mount dual cantilever on Amazon and it is proving to be very sturdy for the task.
sony sucks
Bought the Sony kdl52xbr4 about 9 mo. ago. The set worked fine for the first few months then the picture developed green splotches all over. Called Sony service and they gave me two options for repair places, one would not come out and the other needed two weeks before they could look at tv. They finally came and looked, they called sony and sony recommended
two different parts. Took another two weeks to get parts and have them installed, they did not help at all. Another call to Sony.. this time they said the set would need complete new screen which was on back order.
A month went by before repair shop recieved the screen, and another two weeks to schedule replacement. After screen was replaced the tv worked fairly well but picture was some what fuzzy, about three hours after repairmen left the tv went completely blank, no sound and no picture. After much complaining to Sony customer service they finally agreed to replace the tv with a referbished tv. So far three months have passed since I have been fighting with Sony customer service to resolve this problem.Hope the replacement tv works. No more sony products for me.
