Good Samsung Entertainment System for Most4
I bought the Samsung HT-TX75 system to go with my Samsung LCD. It matches perfectly aesthetically with the black frame and silver trimmings. I've had it for about one full month now. I've used it for every single feature it offers: HDMI output, using the surround sound for TV and game use, FM Radio, XM Radio, DVD upscaling, and music CDs.

Set up was a breeze. The wires are all color coded, they do seem a little thin but they serve their purpose. There are a lot of ways you can tweak the system to make sure it sounds just the way you like. The Samsung Anynet program is supposed to ease the plug and play use between Samsung products but I found it annoying since I like to listen to a different source when I have my TV on, so I disabled that feature. It got annoying each time I would turn the TV off and it would turn the receiver off when I wanted to listen to the radio.

It's so easy to listen to MP3's via flash drive and USB port or just throwing them all on one CD. I also like the fact that I can just add some AVI files to a DVD and it will play them directly from the drive. The speakers seem to sound crisp to me and the subwoofer does a great job. I am not a true audiophile, but I have don't have any issues with this systems audio capabilities. I think I had too high expectations for the DVD upscaling feature. I was expecting near HD quality like my HD cable but it doesn't seem to come close at all. I did have a little trouble setting it to upscale to 1080i(you have to press and HOLD DOWN the SD/HD button for a little bit, I also don't like to read the manual from front to back).

Some minor issues for me: ---the volume does not seem to go up as high when I am listening to XM radio, it's just a little lower than CD listening. I like to play my music really loud so I was a little disappointed when I had the volume on "MAX" and I still wanted to turn it up. Also, I like to see the Artist/Song title when I listen to XM, but you have to select that option each time you turn it on and each time you change the station, it can get annoying, especially since `Artist/Song Title' is the third XM display option, after the default `Station Name' and `Category.'

---Not only do I like to turn the volume up very loud but also I like to have the radio volume on low when I'm trying to study. Unfortunately the amp cooling fan seems to be a little louder than I would like which voids trying to listen to anything on a low volume.

I bought this system at a reasonable price. I wanted a quality home theater system and the Samsung HT-TX75 has met and exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this system to those who are looking for a trouble free, easy to use system with a lot of features.

Solid out-of-the-box system4
I've owned this for over a year and I don't have very many negative things to say about it. Pretty easy to setup, if you have any technical ability. The sub cranks out some bass. When I want to try and wake the neighbors I turn it up to about 22 which is pretty loud. It goes up to 40 or 50. "Transformers" sounded like something was going to come through the wall when I played it.

My only two gripes are the lack of choices for settings. The system offers a few pre set sound options but you can't customize any of them. The next is the HDMI inputs. There is only one so it came down to my cable box or my Xbox. The obvious choice would be the cable box as I watch it more than I play Xbox but I couldn't get it to pick up the signal, so the Xbox won by default. It sounds really good as well.

All in all a pretty decent system if you want surround sound right out of the box and don't want to spend an arm and a leg on individual components.
